The Police Advisory Board of the Mettmann district police is tasked with promoting a relationship of trust between the population, municipal authorities and the police, supporting police work and bringing suggestions and requests from the population to the police.
At its meetings, police matters are discussed that are of importance to the population and local self-government, including complaints that are directed against the police and are of public interest.
The Police Advisory Board must also be consulted prior to the creation of social facilities, the planning of structural facilities for the police, the establishment or dissolution of police inspectorates and police stations and changes to their districts. The same applies to the appointment of a new head of authority.
