Most of the police officers in our district police authority work at the Directorate for Emergency Response/Employment (GE). The GE Directorate is responsible for almost all patrol and operational activities of the uniformed police in the district
. The associated departments ensure the day-to-day management of operations
- from receipt of the emergency call
- through the assignment of the operation by the control center
- through to processing on site by patrol cars and officers from the police stations, the district and priority services or the special police services
Command and Situation Service (FLD) and control center
The FLD evaluates operations carried out and collects all information required for the operational management of KPB Mettmann. It is the intelligence and information center.
The police control center is staffed 24 hours a day. The employees manage all operations of the district police authority and coordinate the emergency services involved. This is also where the emergency call 110 and emergency faxes are received.
Outside office hours, the control center's tasks also include:
- ensuring the availability of the KPB Mettmann
- performing the tasks of the FLD/situation center
- performing the tasks of the press office
Police stations and daytime stations
The police stations in the district with 24-hour operation are in
- Velbert (for Velbert, Wülfrath and Heiligenhaus)
- Ratingen (for Ratingen and Mettmann)
- Hilden (for Hilden, Erkrath and Haan)
- Langenfeld (for Langenfeld and Monheim)
The district and priority service (BSD) maintains stations with a display service in the following municipalities
- Heiligenhaus
- Wülfrath
- Mettmann
- Haan
- Erkrath
- Monheim
Police special services
The main task of the police special services (PSD) is to support local police forces at events and major operational situations. In addition, there are event-related presence patrols (e.g. at focal points to combat youth and street crime) and support for special individual operations.
The PSD also includes
- Duty dog handlers with their police dogs
- Officers with scene knowledge in the area of sport
- City officers (as contact persons for the local police and municipality)
- Associated with the 9th riot police unit (BPH) of the Wuppertal police, the officers of the PSD are also used for emergency operations outside the district
